Vending
machines are great money and time savers.The
University of Queensland Computer Science and Electrical Engineering department
desires this benefit to dispense small components such as resistors, microprocessors
and other components required by students for projects and practicals.The
proposed small component vending machine (SCVM) will give students a 24-hour
source of components.
Multiple
machines will be networked throughout the department buildings.The
status and contents of each would be available through the Internet and
orders placed and processed.Student
budgets and stock inventory will be monitored and updated automatically
and notifications of low stock and low budgets sent via e-mail.A
machine less than one square metre would be capable of dispensing 500 different
capsules.
