Fingerprint Recognition

Anthony Lum

Abstract:
Finger recognition has the potential to replace locks, keys, access cards other personal identification devices. This thesis implements a new approach to finding key identifying features. These features were compared with features from other fingerprints in an attempt to distinguish between matching and unique pairs. The features were extracted correctly, however, they did not possess enough information to positively identify a match. The addition of future constraints is proposed for future investigation.
