Abstract:
The aim of this research was to design and construct a solid state
conversation recorder. The recorder shall be used to record great lengths of spoken
conversations. Its uses include recording legally important conversations.
Using proprietary compression techniques, a number of hours worth of voice data can be stored onto a physically and logically small solid state memory device. The recorder is capable of time and date stamping the recorded data and transferring it to a mass storage device on a PC. These features make the product unique and useful compared to similar consumer electronic devices.
