The Design, Implementation and Evaluation of the Lessons Learned System

Student: Penelope Gay Drennan

Supervisor: Dr. Paul Strooper

Category: Software Engineering Thesis Project

This thesis discusses the design, implementation and evaluation of a Lessons Learned System, developed for use at Boeing Australia Ltd. The need for the Lessons Learned System arose from the lack of a central repository that could be used for storing project experiences. The system will be deployed on the central Engineering Network (EngNET) at Boeing Australia Ltd. Research has been carried out in the area of knowledge management to determine what factors will affect the success or failure of the system in the current work environment of the organisation. The development process used for the Lessons Learned System was an iterative process involving specification, design, implementation, deployment and review activities.
