DESCRIPTION OF YOUR IMAGE HERE

The breakthrough in the development of the hardware of the computer has enabled a more efficient and comprehensive application of the Artificial Neural Network (ANN). ANN is a technique that has been widely adapted in many industries.

This thesis examines and analyses the use of neural network as a forecast tool. Historical financial data of seven companies were pre-process and fed into the neural network. A number of neural network designs are implemented to test the neural network’s ability to predict the return of the stock market. Accuracy is compared with the data from the Australia Stock Exchange. This thesis objective is to study the feasibility and practicality of using neural networks as a forecasting tool for the user and to determine if detectable trends are present in stock returns.
