iCul - A literature awareness service

Exhibitor: Markus Rittenbruch

Supervisor: Stephen Viller

Research Group: Complex and Intelligent Systems

Industry Sector: Scientific / Research Services

iCul (I see your literature) is a prototypical implementation of a literature awareness service. It enables co-workers to be aware of each others queries for research literature and state their privacy statuses. The literature queries of co-workers are displayed according to their privacy needs.

The iCul system is used to investigate aspects of status disclosure and active contexualisation as well as the role of privacy in awareness services.
