Lab Synchronous Machine Parameter Extraction and Verification For Simulink Model Exhibitor: Dave Ng Supervisor: Allan Walton Research Group: Complex and Intelligent Systems Industry Sector: Energy and Utilities The objective of this thesis is to create simulink model for standard test procedures, and from the simulation curve fittings, we can confirm the test techniques that could be used on realistic machines. Experimental data of a synchronous machine can also be used for the simulation model to verify the parameters by matching the curve results This thesis follows the IEEE standard of test procedures for determining parameter values for steady-state conditions as well as specific tests for determination of transient and subtransient direct axis parameters, also known as the reactance values. The process using the simulation runs consists of a trial-and-error adjustment of parameter values until a match is made with the actual test results.
