Bluetooth Wireless Stereo

Student: Suhanya Gunarajah

Supervisor: Neil Bergmann

Category: Engineering Thesis Project - Computer Systems

ABSTRACT The purpose of this project is to investigate the feasibility of using Bluetooth Technology and implement the transfer of real-time CD quality audio by capturing an audio signal, digitise it and then transmitting using BlueMod over a Bluetooth link. This signal is received by a BlueMod where it is changed back to an audio signal and out put to a pair of speakers. Though the initial objective of producing an actual Bluetooth stereo was not finished due to the software specifications not being researched in this thesis, the report goes on to outline further work involving the device for continuation at a later date. The precise technical solution at this stage is left for investigation. There are many forms the device could take, major considerations for the project include: audio quality, power consumption, reliability, and eventually size. The final solution should comply with all the relevant standards, for such devices.
