Nonlinear Dynamical Control Systems Student: William K.Y. Pang Supervisor: Zhao Dong Category: Engineering Thesis Project - Power As technology progress, many practical nonlinear control systems have been developed, ranging from high-end stuff such as “fly-by-wire” aircraft control system, advanced robotic and space systems, to our common daily life found in car engines and washing machine. The purpose of this thesis is to present a few significant theories and practices of non linear control systems. This thesis is extracted from my self-study book or “notebook” which is taken out from my findings and readings towards my advance level of learning of Control System Engineering. My objective is to present the results of the theories in the areas of feedback linearization and design of non linear dynamical control systems; demonstrate their use plus a short review. Finally, through the use of feedback linearization, a proposed ‘cascaded spherical tanks plant’ is developed and simulated for nonlinear / uncertain fluid flow rate in which the uncertainty could be injected into the spherical tanks with an arbitrary bounding size. This last development opens up as an example for theoretical and applied research for many systems whose structures fit within the work frame of my design technique.
