Genetic Algorithm and Accleration Technique

Student: Su Yuin Yeo

Supervisor: Zhao Dong

Category: Engineering Thesis Project - Power

This is a thesis project based on genetic algorithm optimisation and acceleration techniques. The thesis first starts off with an introduction of the basic concept of genetic algorithm. It explains how a virtual population is created and how reproduction is carried out. It then progresses to a brief description of the DeJong functions and acceleration techniques. The purpose of this project is to research on acceleration techniques that can be used in accelerating convergence in genetic algorithm, implement the techniques, gather the simulated data and compare them with the results from conventional techniques. From this, a conclusion can be drawn on how successful and effective the acceleration techniques are.
