This year's winning students included:

* School of ITEE Best Software Project awarded to Mika Hasanah - Smart House Design to support ageing;

* CEED Prize for Best Industry Project awarded to Wilbert Villena - Wireless Cellular Performance Modelling;

* RS Components Prize for Best Piece of Working Electronics Hardware awarded to Chris Garber - Improvement of a VCSEL array based self-mixing sensor experimentation platform;

* Farnell Prize for Best Embedded Micro Hardware/Software awarded to Bazle Eizad - Designing a quad-rotor UAV with an FPGA based controller;

and

* School of ITEE Prize for Most Imaginative Demonstration awarded to Donald Cook - Terrestrial Optical Attitude Detection System.
